Description
Took this one on a kayak. Shortly after I was hit by a wave and knocked into the water. I beat down 3 sharks with my camera and climbed back in to my boat and paddled to safety with nothing more than a scratch on my leg.Well, the only part of that story that is true is the part where I took the pic on my kayak.

If you were to ask me I would say that as a species we are far too successful. When I see the endless construction that goes on in the suburbs of Toronto, and think of the resources used to create the grandiose structures humans have a tendency to build in celebration of ourselves I shudder. But then there is the guilty little side of me that sees a photo like this and appreciates the beauty in what we build. Damn my aesthetic notions, interrupting my sense of outrage!

goutweed thank you. It was taken in the Florida Keys a few years ago. If you've ever seen the movie "True Lies" with Arnold, that is the bridge that they blew up. Once side is functional and the other side is the old one that does not connect anymore. (Obviously they blew up a section of the old one)
I used to love going to Toronto too... the CN tower, Casa Loma... and I really loved the subways. I know what you mean about the great structures, they are always a treat to behold.
Thank you both for the comments.
