Description
A friend of mine came to me with a water damaged, cracked and faded picture that had somehow survived a fire. She said it was the only picture of her parents in existence when they were younger, and asked if there was any hope in fixing it. I said I'd give it a shot. I honestly have no idea how much time went into this because I've been working on it off and on for over a year or so. I think over time it has turned into more of a painting than anything but I didn't really know where to put it. I'm still going to work on it here and there so I was hoping to get some feedback. Any critiques on improving it would be most appreciated. Here is the original:

I would just brighten & maybe add a texture on it.

She hasn't seen the touched up picture yet and has no idea what has been done to it. My goal is to try to have it ready for a Christmas present. Can't wait to see the look on her face.
Thank you again for the comments. It's nice to have other sets of eyes on it to help bring it to completion.
