Description

Made this in acrylics for a school project. It's from a picture in a National Geographic and I was practicing with acrylics. I wish the resolution was a little better it's all I have right now. I changed it from the original picture but I wanted to try to fucus on all the textures and create a mood. It was a fun project.

This is great, the texture of the cloth is particularly well done, and his face is full of character.

Thank you both. I thought that cloth was going to be the death of me! It saddens me to look at this poor resolution version and then at the full size 3ft painting on my wall. I need a better shot of this guy. :/

"Daddi cool..." :)
Looks good, it would be fun if you were able to get a bigger picture though.
Keep up the good work.

Finally got a hold of a digital camera. Here is a bigger version a bit more clear.

You did this in acrylic! great stuff. You've really captured his situation. Like the texture. Is it on canvas or board?

Thanks velvet. It's on canvas. I'm working on another acrylic for a Christmas gift so I'm kind of bouncing back and forth from traditional to digital painting. I haven't done an acrylic in years so it's been a lot of fun. The hardest part about switching back and forth is I keep having that urge to "command z" in acrylics all the time :)

I love how you made the skin have an aged look, and the textures are very nice. Great job.
